  • The World Federation of Neurology (WFN) and the Department of Neurology of Mohamed V University, Rabat, Morocco announced THREE one-year visiting fellowships in neurophysiology for African neurologists, in an announcement dated March 30, 2025.23
  • The training runs for one academic year, from September 2025 to August 2026, at the Department of Neurology, Mohamed V University.2
  • The curriculum covers clinical neurophysiology with an emphasis on electromyography (EMG), neuropathies, muscle diseases, and other neuromuscular disorders.2
  • Two of the three fellowships are sponsored by the International Congress for Neuromuscular Disease (ICNMD) from proceeds of its 2022 congress, organized by the WFN research group on neuromuscular diseases.3
  • Funding for successful applicants covers a round-trip economy flight, accommodation for the academic year, a monthly living allowance, and health/medical-activity insurance, disbursed via the Moroccan Foundation Against Neurological Diseases.2
  • Eligibility requires applicants to be residents of a low- or lower-middle-income Sub-Saharan African country, to have recently completed neurology training, to be born after December 31, 1981, and to be fluent in French; the application deadline was Friday, April 25, 2025.24
  • The program is part of the WFN’s African Initiative and its network of approved training centres, which also includes sites in Cairo (Egypt), Dakar (Senegal), and Cape Town (South Africa).4
  • Rabat is a longstanding WFN teaching centre: published fellowship recipient lists show trainees across cohorts from 2017-18 onward, with the 2020-21 year cancelled due to COVID-19.5
