- The study (Scientific Reports, 2025) tested whether anodal tDCS over the right ventrolateral prefrontal cortex (rVLPFC, mapped to the F8 site of the 10–20 EEG system) increases “rational,” self-interested choices in the ultimatum game; 61 first-year psychology students at Bar-Ilan University participated (78% women, mean age 22.5, SD 1.73), randomly assigned to anodal (n=30) or sham (n=31).2
- Stimulation delivered a constant 1.5 mA for 20 minutes via a battery-driven NeuroConn/Eldith stimulator, using a small 3×3 cm anode (9 cm², current density 0.166 mA/cm²) over rVLPFC and a larger 5×7 cm reference cathode (35 cm², 0.04 mA/cm²) over the contralateral supraorbital area; the ROAST MATLAB toolbox modeled current flow on a realistic head model.2
